Ever since I got my iPad last year, I feel like I am always using it. I predicted that I use it when I wake up in the morning, before work, after work, after dinner, at night, and more. When I looked at last weeks data, I was surprised at the result.
Data Collection: Luckily, collecting this data was pretty easy. Under settings, the option “screen time” collects data about the apps that I use everyday. I used the data collected in the app to create my visual.
Trends: Almost every day I use my iPad from 9-11 am and then again around 8-10 in the evening. It seems to be a morning and evening activity to help me relax.
Insights: I don’t use my iPad as much as I originally thought. Instead of multiple quick uses, I am using it 2-3 times a day for a very long period of time.
- Monday: Driving most of the day
- Tuesday: Driving most of the day/ got home at 8pm
- Wednesday: no sleep/ worked all day
- Thursday: worked all day
- Friday: worked in the morning
What I would change: I wish I used different colors to show the AM vs PM times. My original intention was to use black and white instead of color to get away from the “screen time” aesthetic.
